VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a well-known Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Business Support Officer to join their team based in Belfast.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Executive, including diary management, correspondence, and preparation of documents.
  • Draft and produce reports, papers, and communications to a high standard.
  • Act as the main liaison between senior leadership and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Arrange and support meetings, including preparation of papers, minute taking, and follow-up on actions.
  • Organise staff events and planning days, ensuring effective delivery.
  • Manage expenditure related to meetings and events in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain filing and record systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Respond to enquiries professionally, exercising sound judgement when handling queries.
  • Promote professionalism, accountability, and positive working relationships across the organisation.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A-C (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics.
  • At least 2 years' experience in an administrative role, providing direct support to senior management.
  • Experience of facilitating meetings, including preparation and circulation of papers.
  • Proven experience in minute taking and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in drafting and reviewing communications and reports to a high standard on behalf of others.
