VANRATH are delighted to be exclusively seeking a high-calibre Head of Financial Control. Reporting to the Divisional Senior Finance Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial control of the Division and managing the associated teams. The Head of Financial Control will have very strong financial acumen, have attention to detail, be proactive and well organised, have strong communication and people skills and have excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team performance, develop skill sets and identify and provide opportunities for development;
  • Key stakeholder management with other members of divisional finance and corporate finance;
  • Manage the Month End close and financial reporting process, including balance sheet reconciliations and submissions to Group Finance;
  • Lead the preparation of monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis and commentary of the financial results;
  • Lead the preparation and submission of VAT and Intrastat returns for the UK & Ireland;
  • Support business stakeholders with regards to financial reporting and ad-hoc queries;
  • Lead the preparation and review of Year-End reporting;
  • Liaise with Group Finance and Group Tax as required during the Year-End process;
  • Ensure that the Year-End audit runs efficiently and that the requirements of the auditors are met;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support system and process improvements for the month-end closing cycle and the processing and payment of vendor invoices.



Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent;
  • Qualified accountant (CA/ACA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA etc);
  • 7 plus years post qualification;
  • 2 plus years of demonstrable people management experience;
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage;
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing company along with experience in commercial finance would be an advantage;
  • Good working knowledge of the latest accounting standards;
  • Strong communication skills; and
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible.
