Role: Day Care Support Worker - Temporary - Lurgan

are delighted to support one of Belfast's most recognisable public sector employers who are actively seeking a Day Care Support Worker to join their team on an interim basis - To work collaboratively within day services to support adults with learning, physical, sensory, cognitive, or age-related disabilities, meeting their assessed needs through both centre-based and community-based care.

  • Salary: Band 3
  • 30 hours/week, Monday to Friday
  • Starting 30th June, 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support person-centred care by contributing to assessment, implementation, and regular review of individual care plans alongside a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Deliver care and activities independently or as part of a team, both within the centre and the wider community, to meet complex physical, behavioural, and health needs.
  • Provide direct support with personal care, mobility, meal provision, and alternative feeding methods, following individual risk assessments and guidance.
  • Assist with medication and health monitoring, including safe administration and accurate record-keeping, in line with policies.
  • Promote safety and compliance by adhering to health and safety, infection control, safeguarding, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain high-quality service delivery through routine checks, equipment monitoring, and reporting concerns or risks promptly to senior staff.
  • Foster respectful communication with service users, carers, and colleagues, ensuring a holistic and confidential approach to care.
  • Undertake guide help duties where required, ensuring safe transport, proper use of safety equipment, and secure handling of personal belongings.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum two years' paid direct care experience (MHS only).

Additional Requirements:

  • Registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or willing to register upon appointment.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (unless exempt due to disability and alternative transport is approved by the Trust). Driving may be required as part of the role.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working within disability and adult community services.
  • NVQ/QCF/VRQ/RQF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
