Business Development Representative (Hybrid)

Job Description

VANRATH is delighted to have partnered with a leading software provider (that targets the construction industry) to recruit a Business Development Representative to join their talented and growing team. This is a new and exciting role for the company with massive progression available.


Salary/ Benefits
£30,000 basic plus bonus (£60,000 on target bonus, ability to double your wage). In addition to this, the position comes with a range of fantastic benefits including hybrid working and Monday-Friday working.

The Role & Responsibilities

Your role as a Business Development Representative is to prospect, qualify and generate leads to then set up meetings and demos, all while building relationships.

  • Outbound Prospecting:
    • Proactively reach out to new leads via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels.
    • Conduct research to identify new prospects, focusing on businesses in the construction industry that would benefit from our ESG and Sustainability reporting software.
  • Lead Qualification:
    • Engage in meaningful conversations with prospects to determine their needs and qualify leads based on specific criteria.
    • Identify decision-makers within target organisations and begin building relationships that lead to meetings and opportunities.
  • Setting Meetings & Demos:
    • Schedule and book discovery calls and product demos between prospects and the sales team.
    • Ensure meetings are tailored to the needs of the customer and address key pain points related to sustainability and ESG reporting.
  • Follow-ups & Relationship Building:
    • Regularly follow up with prospects through email and calls to nurture relationships and ensure continued interest.
    • Utilse a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to track progress, set reminders for follow-ups, and manage your pipeline.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Teams:
    • Work closely with the Sales Manager, Marketing and Co-Founder to share feedback on outreach, refine messaging, and improve the qualification process.
    • Regularly update the team on your pipeline, key interactions, and progress towards your targets.
  • Reporting & Tracking:
    • Keep accurate records of all prospecting activities, including outreach efforts, meetings set, and Sales Accepted Opportunities.
    • Regularly assess your performance against your targets and adapt strategies where necessary to maximise success.

The ideal person

  • Previous experience in construction, sales or sustainability
  • Hungry and driven individual with a willingness to grow - you will be ideally promoted to a direct sales position within 24 months
  • Experience of lead generations, sales prospecting or business development (ideally within tech), reaching out to key decision makers
