HSC Band 7 Programme Manager (Training Systems) - Hybrid/Belfast- Immediate Start - £22.37ph + HP & Pension

VANRATH are recruiting an experienced Programme Manager for a Belfast based HSCNI organisation. Reporting into Senior Manager, this is an asap start for an initial duration of 2 months (with opportunities for extension). This is an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager interested in a quick start short term role.

Remuneration

£22.37ph, plus pension, holiday pay.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake specific projects to reform and modernise hospital training programmes to support the Director in meeting strategic objectives.
  • Plan, organise and prioritise own workload to ensure project objectives are met on time, ensuring the Director is kept informed of project progress, and escalating problems where necessary.
  • Participate in and lead, when appropriate, relevant internal and external working groups/projects, e.g. medical leave to meet curricular requirements, special circumstances, out of programme fellowships to develop the workforce of the HSC, inter-deanery transfer programmes, to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure joint working and consistency of approach across the departmental objectives.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Department of Health on the medical workforce plans and update on opportunities for the introduction of new speciality training programmes to meet the needs of the HSC.
  • Contribute to the discussions on informing the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementing and evaluating projects and initiatives by providing sophisticated, high quality project analysis.
  • Utilising a range of facts or situations for the purposes of comparison allowing national benchmarking to occur.
  • Work collaboratively with Trust HR teams to support medical training programmes in the HSC.
  • In conjunction with the Director, identify and work through constraints and risks that inhibit the progress of specialty training programme delivery at regional level.
  • Contributing to performance improvement, taking a lead for specific specialties/resource groups where agreed.
  • Responsible for the management of budgets.

Candidate

  • A university degree or equivalent professional qualification AND 3 years' experience working in an operational or project management environment within HSC. OR 5 years' experience
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking and presenting detailed analysis of complex data to senior management to support the delivery of service improvement and to achieve successful outcomes
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting change/transformation projects and achieving these improvements at an organisational level.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing, assessing, monitoring and reviewing service Proposals. K
  • Hold a full current driving license valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment or have
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Highly computer literate using Microsoft office packages including word, excel and powerpoint
  • Strong organisational skills and problem-solving skills i.e. ability to plan, prioritise and manage effectively in a demanding and challenging environment. Experience of working in professional networks and effective collaborative relationships.
  • Knowledge of change management within postgraduate medical education and training
