VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a Public Sector employer who are actively seeking an Admin Assistant to join their team on a contract basis.

This is an urgent requirement offering an immediate start date.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional administrative and secretarial support.
  • Handle general enquiries and direct them appropriately.
  • Perform typical admin tasks: data input, document creation, filing, photocopying, scanning.
  • Manage internal/external communication (face-to-face, email, phone).
  • Take accurate minutes at various meetings and distribute within 3 days.
  • Maintain and update digital and physical records.
  • Use IT systems for data entry and performance reporting.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) or 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Full Driving License and access to a car.

Desirable Criteria:

  • RSA Stage 1 Word-Processing (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience in secretarial duties.
  • Experience in the housing sector.
