This highly respected, 'Tech for Good' company are in search of a seasoned, self-driven, and enthusiastic Engineering Manager to join their well established Engineering Team in Belfast. As Software Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate across various departments and sites, advocating for quality and fostering innovation among Engineers and the wider team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to cross-functional engineering teams, offering mentorship, guidance, and support.
• Ensure team adherence to software development processes and internal standards.
• Identify new tools, processes, and techniques to enhance quality and efficiency, collaborating with leaders across departments for implementation.
• Lead by example in technical expertise and architectural standards.
• Drive a lean development methodology, fostering continuous improvement and creativity.
• Influence testability during design and development phases.
• Ensure features meet desired levels of quality, reliability, security, and performance.
• Foster clear communication and collaboration, steering technical milestones.
• Coordinate effectively with various groups for synchronised activities and shared success.
• Maintain a culture of engineering leadership and innovation.

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in software management/leadership.
• Experience with C# .NET or Java, SQL Server or Oracle, and JavaScript Frameworks.
• Minimum of 2 years in Agile/Lean environment.
• Familiarity with modern technologies and software design.
• Understanding of Lean or Agile environment, continuous integration/deployment, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in web application development and distributed environments.

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Azure or AWS).
• Familiarity with software quality assurance tools and test automation.
• Knowledge of Behavior/Test Driven development.
• Previous exposure to UI technologies and frameworks like JavaScript, Angular, Vue.js.
• Familiarity with containerisation frameworks like Docker, Kubernetes.
• Exposure to database development.
