The Role:


As a Software Asset Specialist, you will play a key role in managing the firm's global software portfolio. Working alongside the Software Asset Manager, you'll contribute to the implementation of best practices for Software Asset Management (SAM), ensuring compliance, optimisation, and strategic alignment across the firm's software estate.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and third-party software suppliers.

  • Act as a trusted licensing advisor, optimising usage and mitigating risk.

  • Assist with vendor licensing audits and internal licensing reviews.

  • Generate Effective Licence Positions (ELPs) and support contract negotiations.

  • Interpret and advise on complex licensing models, particularly for Tier 1 vendors.

  • Collaborate with Procurement and Legal to improve licensing terms.

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of asset data using various systems and tools.

  • Conduct data analysis and present actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Support the automation and education of SAM processes across the business.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:


  • 3+ years' experience in software licensing or SAM roles.

  • Experience managing licensing for Tier 1 vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, or SAP.

  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex licensing metrics.

  • Proficiency in working with tools such as SCCM, CMDB, Active Directory, and vendor portals.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) qualification is preferred.

  • Experience in a global or large-scale corporate environment is desirable.
