Snr IT Technical Writer (Hybrid/50K)

Job Description

Our client is a specialized company that offers telecommunications software and services to global communications service providers. Their focus is on optimizing revenue management and facilitating digital engagements through a range of products and services.

Currently, they are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join their engineering department. As a member of the technical documentation team, your responsibility will be to ensure the timely delivery, quality, and adherence to standards of all technical documentation work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess technical documentation requirements for products.
  • Collaborate with product teams to prepare customer documentation.
  • Prioritize and deliver work within deadlines.
  • Maintain high standards in documentation delivery.
  • Contribute actively to documentation review and enhancement.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in documenting highly technical software for customers, developers, and administrators.
  • Native fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in DITA XML and hands-on experience with Oxygen XML Author.
  • Passion for writing documentation that enhances the user experience.
  • Experience in documenting end-to-end solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile development environment.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • BA/BS degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong technical writing skills using various tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Native fluency in English.
  • Understanding of documentation requirements and effective collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in tracking technical documentation deliverables.
  • Self-motivation and proactive work style.

Desirable:

  • Experience in converting content to DITA XML.
  • Familiarity with Git/Github.
  • Familiarity with Markdown tooling.
  • Knowledge of containerization, CNCF, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience in creating training materials.
