Snr IT Technical Writer

Job Description

My Client are a company that specializes in providing telecommunications software and services to global communications service providers, They offer a range of products and sercices aimed at optimizing revenue management, and enabling digital engagements.

They are currently looking to hire a Senior Technical Writer to join our engineering department. As a member of the technical documentation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery, quality, and adherence to standards of all technical documentation work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the technical documentation requirements for their products.
  • Collaborate with product teams to prepare customer documentation.
  • Prioritize and deliver all required work within established deadlines.
  • Ensure that the delivered documentation maintains the highest standards.
  • Actively participate in the continuous review and improvement process for documentation.

Requirements:

  • Possess 6+ years of experience in documenting highly technical software for customers, developers, and administrators.
  • Be a native English speaker.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in DITA XML and hands-on experience with Oxygen XML Author.
  • Exhibit a passion for writing documentation that enhances the user experience.
  • Have experience documenting end-to-end solutions.
  • Have worked in an Agile development environment.
  • Be adaptable to new assignments and adept at resolving customer issues.
  • Hold a BA/BS degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or possess relevant professional experience.
  • Showcase solid technical writing skills using a variety of tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Native fluency in English.
  • Ability to comprehend documentation requirements and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Capability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in tracking technical documentation teams' deliverables.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and conscientious, with the ability to work with minimal direction.

Desirable:

  • Experience in converting content to DITA XML from other formats.
  • Familiarity with Git/Github.
  • Familiarity with Markdown tooling.
  • Knowledge of containerization, CNCF, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience in creating training materials
