About your next employer

Our client is a large Pubic Sector Health Organisation, providing Family Intervention and Looked After Children's Services across the Western Trust area.

About you

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
  • 3 years post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker or above within a statutory Family and Childcare setting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all relevant legislation, policy and procedures as they related to looked after children.
  • Ability to work on own initiative to manage cases involving a high degree of risk / complex issues.

What you'll do

Acting as the Senior Practitioner, you will be primarily responsible for the direct provision of quality social work services to children and families. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Enhanced responsibilities in relation to the case management process.
  • Direct practice with children and families
  • Statutory duties in respect of children in need.
  • Multi-agency working
  • User and carer involvement.
  • Providing support and advice to other team members.
  • Attend training, supervision and learning opportunities for professional development.
