Senior Officer - 33k - Public Sector

Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Senior Officer to join their team based in Belfast.

This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position. 37 hours per week. Monday - Friday 9 - 5.

Salary

£28,672 - £35,745 per annum, plus benefits.

The post-holder will be responsible to a Senior Principal Officer and will assist in the provision of a comprehensive Land & Regeneration service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and review of organisational strategies and policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of land and regeneration projects.
  • Provide information, both orally and in written form, as required for a range of reports, queries and stakeholders e.g. FOI responses, NI Assembly Questions DfC etc.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Land & Regeneration Services IT business support systems.
  • Represent the department to both external and internal stakeholders.
  • To carry out routine administrative tasks as required and provide support to the senior management team.
  • Assist with establishment and maintenance of a variety of departmental databases ensuring organisational compliance with Data Protection and GDPR etc.
  • Assist in the development, production and publication of key departmental reports.
  • Development of economic appraisals for the future use of land and property assets.
  • To manage the day-to-day activities of administrative staff to meet business objectives.


Requirements

  • A degree or an equivalent level qualification and must also be able to demonstrate 1 years relevant experience.
  • BTEC Higher or an equivalent level qualification and must also be able to demonstrate 2 years relevant experience.

For the purposes of shortlisting, applicants must demonstrate their relevant experience for the number of years required, depending on their level of qualification, by reference to at least 4 of the following 7 areas:

  1. Experience in developing and implementing strategies, policies and processes.
  2. Experience in the development and maintenance of new organisational IT / data systems.
  3. Experience in the development, production and publishing of organisational reports to a professional standard for senior managers and/or external stakeholders.
  4. Experience of representing the Housing Executive to both external and internal stakeholders.
  5. Experience in extracting and presentation of data and information from primary and other research sources to inform the management decision making process and identify solutions.
  6. Experience in the development of economic appraisals.
  7. Experience in the use of IT software (e.g. Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access; SPSS and ArcGIS) for developing and maintaining management spreadsheets / databases, interrogation of spreadsheets / databases to produce relevant statistics; and mapping, information retrieval, and analysis for reporting purposes.
