Senior Management Accountant

VANRATH is delighted to be working in partnership with an innovative market leading business to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to join the rapidly expanding operational finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller the key focus of the role will to be responsible for maintaining General Ledger, preparing the monthly and annual accounts, VAT and Tax returns, and working closely with the finance team to ensure all accounting deadlines are met.

This role will offer forward-thinking commercial candidates unrivalled scope to progress within the finance team to Financial Controller within 2-5 years as well as flexible/ remote working and a market-leading remuneration package.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the monthly reporting pack in line with reporting timelines
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasting and budgets
  • Review of the business's monthly performance against budget, identifying and investigating key variances
  • Project Costing and Costs analysis
  • Provide detailed and timely reporting to management
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any issues timely
  • Work closely with the accounts administrator and procurement team to ensure controls are being adhered to, timelines are being met and all issues resolved in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of the Annual Statutory Accounts and Tax Computations
  • Work with our auditors to provide relevant information and be able to explain workings
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Assist with process improvements and documenting procedure policies
  • Adhere to internal controls and compliance


The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant with a minimum of 1 year PQE ideally gained within a fast paced commercial environment, strong management accounting experience is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite as is strong systems experience (ideally SAGE) skills and good attention to detail.
