Senior Developer ASP.NET Webforms

Their products have been unaffected by the current circumstances and they are planning to grow their team to prepare for developing the next generation of their product suite in 2021. Currently the applications are written in ASP.NET Webforms and are hosted in the Cloud. The company's turnover is over $1b and has an influence is a variety of industries, hence the diversity of their product suite. Role

You will provide leadership within the engineering team on technical design both, with respect to programming best practice and the implementation of non-functional requirements. The success candidate will work collaboratively with members of the QA, Architecture, Product Management and Support Teams.

Ideally you would have excellent working knowledge of commonly used concepts, best-practices, and procedures within an agile environment.

You will:

  • Develop high quality, re-usable source code. For example, ensure code is commented in line with company software guidelines.
  • Perform code reviews.
  • Automate test cases & test harnesses where possible to enhance quality of product functionality.
  • Only where automation is not possible, design and document effective manual test strategies.
  • Incorporate Non-functional requirements into the design of the product features in order to deliver a high quality of service to customers.

Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • 5+ years professional software development experience
  • Commercial experience with:
    • C# .NET
    • SQL
  • Experience of developing high quality, secure and high-performing solutions against functional and non-functional requirements.
  • The ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of Agile working practices and methodologies.
  • The ability to demonstrate an appreciation of the Non-Functional requirements and how to meet them.
  • Good problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills that enable root cause analysis to be performed is essential.

Desirable:

  • The ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS and associated cloud technologies.
  • Technologist, someone with previous experience of other languages (C++, Java Etc.) who is open to learning and evolving with our products.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience of working on product software that is sold to either commercial or government customers.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience in the automation of Software testing and build systems.
  • Experience of assisting and mentoring less experienced peers is desirable.
