A dynamic food distribution company that provides baked goods and speciality products has been rapidly expanding and is seeking an experienced Retail Area Manager to lead their team. £30,000 - £35,000 + commission (uncapped)
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the sales and returns of products delivered to our distribution network, as well as managing and leading our team of drivers. The ideal candidate will possess strong retail experience, excellent leadership skills, and a solid analytical background. Proficiency in using our CyBake system to analyse data will be crucial for success in this position.
- Oversee the sales and returns of products delivered to our distribution network within your assigned area.
- Manage and lead a team of drivers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing departments to develop strategies for increasing sales and expanding market reach.
- Analyse sales data using CyBake to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement sales plans, including setting sales targets and monitoring performance against goals.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor product displays, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Train and develop your team of drivers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adapt strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with the team to optimise delivery routes, manage inventory levels, and ensure efficient supply chain management.
- Prepare and present reports on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant metrics to the management team.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in the food industry (sales management preferred).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret sales data using tools like the CyBake system.
- Sound knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management, pricing strategies, and visual merchandising.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with retail partners and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and resolve issues promptly.
- Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to the role.
- Flexibility to travel within the assigned area and occasionally attend meetings or training sessions outside of regular working hours.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
