Production Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to join the management team of a leading manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon. This role will oversee the day-to-day running of the machine shop, driving operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

The Role


As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Group Leaders, Supervisors, and Production staff to ensure production targets are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in embedding lean manufacturing practices, managing resources effectively, and creating a culture of performance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production operations to ensure on-time delivery and smooth workflow.
  • Maintain full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, introducing and embedding lean manufacturing tools and processes.
  • Manage production costs, track budgets, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure product quality is consistently achieved, with a focus on right-first-time and zero defects.
  • Support the maintenance of equipment and machinery through TPM processes.
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance management to your team.
  • Monitor and control inventory and stock levels, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence across the site.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a production management or supervisory role within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in production planning, resource management, and process improvement.
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • IT literate, with experience using MRP or similar systems.

Desirable:

  • Previous manufacturing engineering or systems experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced lean practices (e.g., TAKT, JIT, Kanban).
