Our client, a forward-thinking IT Services Provider based in Mid Ulster, is currently seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their expanding technical operations team. Renowned for their people-first approach and high standards of client service, the company partners with organisations across Northern Ireland to deliver scalable, secure, and responsive IT solutions that fuel business growth.
You'll work alongside a dynamic team of engineers and project professionals, acting as a trusted technical advisor and escalation point for a variety of IT-related issues. The role requires an individual who can troubleshoot and resolve incidents with confidence while also contributing to wider technical initiatives, including infrastructure rollouts, cloud migrations, and network improvements.
Deliver tiered IT support services across a broad technology stack, providing swift issue resolution and excellent client communication
Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to hardware, software, and connectivity
Build and maintain client systems, including servers, desktops, laptops, and network devices
Support Microsoft 365 administration (Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Configure and manage site-to-site and remote access VPN connections
Oversee routine systems maintenance, patching cycles, and security monitoring
Maintain and update technical documentation, support logs, and change controls
Participate in client infrastructure projects including server upgrades, migrations, and network improvements
Collaborate with team members and mentor junior staff when required
Liaise directly with client stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating across multiple domains in an SME/MSP landscape and bring solid experience with:
Infrastructure services - Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Remote Desktop Services
Networking - Layer 2/3 troubleshooting, VLANs, firewall rule configuration, routing fundamentals
Operating Systems - Windows Server (2016-2022), Windows 10/11
Cloud Platforms - Microsoft 365 tenant administration and user support
Backup & Recovery - Experience with business continuity and restore procedures in hybrid environments
Endpoint Protection - Familiarity with enterprise-grade tools such as ESET, SentinelOne, Fortinet
MSP Technologies - Use of tools like NinjaOne, ConnectWise, Halo PSA, or Autotask (preferred)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical support or IT engineering role within a managed services environment
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to resolving escalated issues
Comfortable working with multiple clients, technologies, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Clear and confident communicator, with a customer-first approach
Holds a full UK driving licence and open to travel as required
Desirable certifications include Microsoft, Fortinet, or equivalent vendor qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, or Systems Administration preferred
