This role is an excellent new opportunity to join a well-known Public Sector Organisation and an excellent, well-established HR team. The role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with circa 6 months HR experience to take the next step in their HR career.

The main purpose of the role is as follows:

  • To be responsible to the appropriate Advisor or Manager for assisting in the provision of the full range of Human Resource (HR) service support duties.
  • To contribute to the provision of a quality human resource service, ensuring the required standards of service are delivered to the organisation.
  • To perform such duties and tasks assigned to the post in accordance with agreed time and quality targets.
  • To provide operational support across the section as directed.

Responsibilities

  • To service a range of senior management, corporate, HR Forum and other ad hoc HR meetings as required.
  • To undertake allocated assignments, HR projects and activities as directed to meet targets and inform line management of any issues.
  • To coordinate recruitment and appointment procedures, chair short listing and interview panels, administer selection testing where appropriate, and prepare and issue all associated documentation.
  • To organise, service and provide secretariat to joint appeals boards, internal appeals boards and any other appropriate panels.
  • To compile a variety of information and confidential materials, from various sources, and summarise information in line with agreed targets and objectives, compiling appropriate reports as and when required.
  • To supervise staff as may be assigned from time to time.
  • To coordinate the diaries of the senior management team for the arrangement of appointments, meetings and hospitality as appropriate.
  • To provide a point of contact for employees and visitors for the Senior Management Team and Employee Relations unit.


The Ideal Person

Applicants must be able to demonstrate on their CV, by providing personal and specific examples, at least six months' relevant experience in the following area:

  • assisting with recruitment and selection panels including providing related administrative support and giving advice to operational managers on employee resourcing matters; and

at least six months' relevant experience in one of the following two areas (b) and, or (c):

  • using and assisting with maintaining specialist human resources related software or systems for recruitment purposes; or
  • organising meetings including booking facilities and composing a range of confidential letters on human resources matters.
