Role: HR Officer - Permanent - Belfast
Job Overview
VANRATH are delighted to support a returning client in their search for an HR Officer to join the business on a Permanent basis. The HR Officer with provide day-to-day HR support to staff and managers on policies, recruitment, absence management, and employee relations.
- Salary: £26,000 - £30,000
- 37.5 hours, Mon-Fri with early Friday finish
- Hybrid working available
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support to staff and managers on HR policies and general employment matters.
- Build good working relationships with colleagues and other teams across the organisation.
- Help ensure HR policies and employment laws are followed correctly.
- Keep up to date with changes in HR and employment law, and share useful information with the team.
- Assist with recruitment tasks such as booking interviews, sending out offers and contracts, and helping with staff inductions.
- Support absence management by giving advice, keeping records, and helping with referrals to occupational health.
- Organise and support meetings related to staff issues, such as disciplinary or grievance hearings.
- Keep staff records and HR systems up to date and make sure they follow data protection rules.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable experience in a generalist HR role, with a minimum of 2-3 years providing HR advice and support.
- Experience in managing HR projects and individual employee cases (e.g. absence, disciplinary, grievance).
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice applicable in the UK.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to influence and support managers and staff.
Desirable Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) membership or working towards.
