HR Administrator (Learning and Development)
Location: Cookstown
Salary: £24,222
Contract: Temporary, Full-time
About the Role: Vanrath is pleased to support a well-known local public sector organisation with a temporary opportunity for an HR Administrator (Learning and Development). This role is a key part of the Human Resources Directorate, providing vital administrative support to the Learning and Development team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver confidential administrative support for various Learning and Development functions in compliance with organisational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Manage administrative and reception duties, including the production of course materials, maintaining course documentation, and serving as the first point of contact for visitors and callers.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date Learning and Development records.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimisation of a new Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development Team and other staff to create professional documentation and course materials.
  • Produce accurate reports and statistics on Learning and Development activities.
  • Design high-quality internal and external communications in line with corporate guidelines.
  • Maintain staff records, including attendance management and personal files.
  • Organise Learning and Development events, including booking venues, travel, accommodation, and catering.
  • Ensure IT and AV resources are available and maintained, providing support and training as needed.
  • Process travel and subsistence claims for personnel attending courses.
  • Ensure compliance with registration and certification procedures of Awarding Bodies.


Essential Criteria:

  • At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a Learning and Development administration role, OR four years' experience in such a role.
  • Proficiency in Windows and other Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrable skills in planning, organisation, prioritisation, attention to detail, effective communication, and customer service orientation.


Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in a Learning and Development administration role within a large, multi-site, multi-disciplinary organisations.
  • Competence in using Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress.
  • Basic maintenance skills for Audio Visual equipment.
  • Working towards CIPD membership or a training qualification such as CIPD Certificate in Training Practice.
  • Experience within local government or the public sector.
