The Role:

You'll be the key figure in managing and evolving health and safety practices across the site. This hands-on role involves conducting audits, leading safety training, managing incidents, and advising leadership on best practices to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead health and safety compliance efforts in line with legal requirements and internal policies

  • Conduct site inspections and audits, recording outcomes and recommending corrective actions

  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and method statements for various work activities

  • Provide expert advice on hazard control and incident prevention

  • Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and induction sessions for new starters

  • Manage all incident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and effective resolution

  • Liaise with regulators and third parties during audits or inspections

  • Monitor PPE usage and availability, ensuring teams are fully equipped

  • Oversee health and safety documentation and reporting systems

  • Track safety metrics and present findings to senior management

  • Support the planning and testing of emergency response procedures


What You'll Need:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification

  • At least 3 years' experience in a dedicated health and safety position

  • Strong knowledge of risk management, incident reporting, and compliance documentation

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Proactive mindset with excellent organisational and follow-up skills
