Head of Risk & Compliance
Location: Hybrid / Remote (final stage interviews in Dublin)

VANRATH is working exclusively with a high-growth player in the financial services sector to hire a Head of Risk & Compliance. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior compliance professional to step into a pivotal leadership role at a fast-scaling firm that values flexibility, work-life balance, and career advancement.
The position is primarily remote with occasional office attendance, and the company offers the option of a 4-day working week for the right candidate.
In this leadership role, you'll guide the business through an evolving regulatory landscape, embedding a strong risk-aware culture across operations. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring the company maintains best-in-class standards across governance, compliance, and risk.
This is a permanent role, suited to someone with hands-on EMI licence application experience and a strong grasp of FCA regulatory expectations.
Provide guidance across departments on legal and regulatory obligations, ensuring best practices are consistently applied
Monitor and evaluate operational risk, developing appropriate controls to reduce exposure
Keep abreast of changing legislation and regulatory shifts, distilling relevant updates into actionable insights
Support compliance with FCA regulations, particularly relating to licensing, reporting, and ongoing supervision
Lead internal assessments on compliance performance, including audits and policy reviews
Ensure timely and accurate submission of required filings and notifications
Influence compliance strategy by contributing to new policy development and procedural frameworks
Provide risk input and oversight on key strategic initiatives and business projects
Minimum 5 years experience in a risk or compliance leadership role within the UK financial services or payments industry
Hands on experience with EMI licensing procedures and proven engagement with FCA regulatory frameworks
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, often cross-border environment
Solid working knowledge of the UK's financial regulatory system
