Estates CAD Technician

Client
Our client has an excellent opportunity for an Estates CAD Technician to join their busy team. The role is part of the core Asset management team responsible for creating and implementing space. As part of the CAD function this role will be responsible for managing their clients CAD processes and information, updating the information to reflect changes to the estate, supporting the asset management team in relation to drawings and support moves, recruitment and change programs by creating concept layout plans.

Remuneration
£25,000 - £30,000+ Benefits DOE

The Ideal Person

Essential

  • A qualification in CAD, ideally gained within a third-level built environment subject.
  • Able to interpret complex data including multi layered AutoCAD drawings.
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of CAD standards and Quality Assurance.
  • Able to work under pressure whilst conforming to procedures and paying attention to detail.
  • Able to work as part of a team and take ownership of allocated areas and time, work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines within a demanding environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues and external partners (contractor, consultant representatives), via face to face contact, meetings, emails and written documentation on matters involving: property drawings, proposals, space planning, drawing updates and space utilisation analysis

Desirable

  • CAD experience ideally gained within an Estates or Construction environment.
  • Knowledge of managing data on CAFM systems.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining Level 2 BIM procedures or general BIM knowledge.



Responsibilities

  • Provide CAD support to colleagues within Asset Management, Project Management and the Client.
  • Oversee the management of all as-built drawings, through attendance at project meetings and handovers and associated dialogue with supply chain partners.
  • Create or amend AutoCAD drawings to specified standards.
  • Interface with an internal drawing management system and ensure this remains updated.
  • Oversee and manage the space coding system to ensure all areas of the estate are accurately coded.
  • Support the delivery of technical services in consideration of; structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services, fire engineering services and develop programmes of work to address matters arising.
  • Attend the Asset Management communities of practice forum with colleagues from across the UK to develop skills and support national initiatives.
