About your next employer
The postholder will be responsible as part of the communications team for the development and delivery of a high-quality digital communications service to the agency's corporate, health topic and intranet websites. The postholder will support the programme of work to create, publish, manage and maintain a range of information to promote and advance core elements of the PHA's programme of work.


The postholder will work with a range of stakeholders from across the public body and wider organisations, and liaise with outside suppliers, to deliver content which supports the advancement of the public body's digital communications strategy. Specific responsibilities will be allocated to the postholder who will be expected to work flexibly with colleagues to meet service requirements.

What you'll do

  • Supporting the Digital Communications Manager in the development and delivery of content hosted on public body website.
  • Contributing to the strategic overview, direction and approach of specific sections of the websites to support the communication of key strategic public health goals and objectives.
  • Inputting to the development of work procedures, practices and approaches to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Engaging in the preparation, production and dissemination of material to steering groups involved in the development of the website.
  • Liaising with the public body officers to identify and incorporate cross-cutting content.
  • Supporting operations by hosting and disseminating information via staff intranet and email. Maintaining and updating database of the policy and procedure documents and business manual on staff intranet.
  • Assessing analytics, metrics and statistics to profile and report on patterns of use.
  • Scoping and timetabling editorial and technical work, updating and developing function and features of websites, and preparing images, audio and video files for uploading.

About you
The candidate must have:

  • Degree, or equivalent professional qualification, in a relevant subject such as Journalism, Communications English or digital media and at least 1 years' experience working in a role involving writing and editing content for website OR
  • 5 years' experience in a role involving digital media that includes writing and editing content for websites.

AND

Experience in the use of the following:

  • Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop or other publishing tools
  • Web content Management Systems e.g. WordPress and Drupal.
  • Web measurement and reporting tools.
  • Search engine optimisation techniques e.g. metatags

  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
