Community Development Manager

Job Description

An excellent new opportunity has just opened up for a Community Development Manager to join a well-known public sector organisation on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client is looking for a driven and focused candidate to lead, manage and develop the team in the effective delivery of the organisation's Community Development Strategy.
The Ideal Person

  • Level 4 OCN/ONC Community Development qualification (or equivalent)

and 3 years' Community Development experience, 3 years experience of managing a team,2 years project management experience
OR

  • 5 years Community Development experience, 3 years experience of managing a team, 2 years project management experience

AND

  • Demonstrated experience delivering good relations initiatives in community setting
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience in preparing reports for Senior staff, Committees and Board level
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint


Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective implementation and delivery of the organisation's Community Development Strategy
  • To identify and implement best practice initiatives to support continuous improvement
  • Identify and secure relevant funding to support growth of Community Development/Good relations initiatives
  • Attain relevant recognised quality marks/accreditation relevant to user Participation/Community Development
  • To provide effective leadership, motivation and development to the Community Development team to optimise performance and ensure value for money in service delivery. Manage the team in accordance with policies and procedures
  • To develop, manage and monitor budget lines and authorise expenditure within delegated limits taking remedial action where necessary to ensure that budgetary targets are achieved
  • To develop and review all documentation, policies and procedures in relation to community development service and ensure that they are consistent with the Regulatory/ Statutory requirements
