Business Development Manager (Plant Hire)

Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding salesperson to take on this mobile plant equipment sales role, specialising in the supply of machinery, to the construction and material rehandling sectors, amongst others. Giving expert advice, competitive pricing and a professional courteous service are guaranteed. We have carefully selected a portfolio of products supplied by world market leading manufacturers.

The Ideal Person

  • A technical sales oriented individual with technical affinity; must be able to explain the machinery and all related aspects
  • Arithmetically competent
  • Experience selling capital equipment (training provided). Experience will be gained on the job.
  • Industry knowledge or competitive product knowledge will be considered assets.
  • Strong organisational, time-management, interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of the products with their respective features and benefits (training to be provided).
  • Commercial skills relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels within the company and the customer's organisation
  • Good presentation skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to open doors and bring new customers on board

Responsibilities

  • Selling Plant Equipment within the construction division of our client business
  • Conducting face to face client meetings within the designated region with occasional factory visits
  • Investigating and following new business opportunities and close new deals
  • Building relationships with existing and potentially new customers
  • Inputting overall sales strategy and execute the sales plan
  • Providing customer advice on appropriate machinery equipment
  • Liaising across various customer levels selling both single and multi-vehicle deals
  • Maintaining and updating CRM system
  • Promoting cash collection for machine sales
