VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting a BAND 8A Senior Project Manager for a large HSCNI organisation, based in L/Derry.

The position of Senior Project Manager is a key role within the senior management structure and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Operations responsible for the HSC Pension Service. The position is responsible for the overall management and success of the HSC Pensions solution to comply with the McCloud Remedy on scheme reforms. The project will involve significant upgrade of existing Pensions Software to accommodate new scheme legislation and will require additional significant resources to implement, populate and test the solution

The Ideal Person

  • Experience of managing Programme/Project and ideally demonstrate an understanding of public sector pension schemes and be aware of changes to Pension Scheme Legislation and new technology and service developments
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner or previous experience utilising a project methodology (e.g. PRINCE 2, other similar methodology).
  • Have experience of dealing with budget management, development, testing, implementation and transition of complex services;
  • A University Degree or relevant professional qualification AND have worked for at least 3 years in a Project Managament role within a major organisation.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will take responsibility taking lead responsibility for the management and delivery of a complex system solution and reform.

This can be considered as:

  • Being a key link with the current system software provider and will focus on the delivery of the project within the timescales defined.
  • Working with HSC Pensions Service Staff, Local Health Trusts, Management, IT Systems supplier and other external Suppliers such as GAD (Government Actuary's Department), Pensions Boards, Dept of Health and other public sector bodies to support and develop systems and processes to facilitate the implementation of the McCloud remedy.
  • In line with BSO "Good Practice" the Postholder will ensure that "Projects In Controlled Environments 2" (PRINCE2) and specific Project and Programme Management Standards and Practices are applied and adhered to in all the projects that they have responsibility for.
  • Being responsible for monitoring the annual projected programme and project financial spend and overseeing its successful and accurate execution. The Postholder will also be responsible for interfacing with other inter-dependant projects and the relevant HSC and non-HSC organisations impacted by the project.

Remuneration:

The salary on this role is in line with the HSCNI BAND 8A (£48-53k) pay scale, with other discount perks.
