Accounts Technician (Part-Time)

Job Description


VANRTAH is delighted to be recruiting for an Accounts Technician for reputable software house in Belfast. My client specialises in data management tools for clients operating in the capital markets to ensure their customers can carefully capture data analytics to best serve their businesses.

The Role
This role will ensure the daily maintenance of the ledgers across the business and effectively support the already established finance function in day-to-day activities. The main duties of the role are as follows:
* Ensure invoices are raised as required
* Complete bookkeeping to Trial Balance
* Preparation of VAT returns
* Posting of monthly wages journal
* Manage Sales and Purchase ledger
* Process prepayments and accruals
* Reconcile all balance sheet items
* Daily bank reconciliations
* Credit Control - liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams re queries
* Assisting with audit queries, general business queries and actively contributing to business process improvement
* Communicate effectively with the team and build strong relationships
* Liaise with senior management in relation to any unresolved issues

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a part qualified accountant or a qualified accounts technician. Moreover, it is essential the successful candidate has had 5+ years' experience in a similar role and has previously used Sage50. The successful individual must meet the essential criteria listed below:
* Experience using Sage line 50
* Part qualified accountant or accounting technician
* Preparing client invoices and ensuring timely collection of revenue
* Proficient with excel
* Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
* Ability to analyse data and prepare variance reports and explanations
* Ability to streamline processes and complete month end close and all balance sheet reconciliations
* Must be highly organised with the ability to work well within tight deadlines
* Ability to prioritise and report effectively
* Experience in the maintenance of all ledgers
* Experience in the processing and management of payroll journals and accrual accounting
* Proven ability to prepare month end reconciliations for all entities and monthly reporting
* Proven ability in accounting for corporation tax and VAT
