Meet the IT Contract Recruitment Team: Glenn Roberts

What did you do before working in recruitment? 

Before working in recruitment I worked in B2C sales. This helped me to communicate with all types of people. Prior to that, I oversaw the internal recruitment process for several branches of a national supermarket chain.

What motivated you to pursue a career in IT recruitment and which specific area and roles do you specialise in now? 

Tech is one of the fastest-growing sectors across the globe, so it made sense to go into that market. I am currently working on IT Business Analyst Contract roles.

What do you enjoy most about working in the IT recruitment industry? 

I get to speak to so many talented individuals and learning by proxy.

What are your favourite aspects of the IT field, and how do you stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies?

I think the diversity in not just the clients buts the candidates is one of my favourite aspects of the IT field.

Why should clients and candidates each consider working with a recruitment consultant for their next role? 

A recruiter is spending all of their time, speaking to clients and candidates which means that on the client side, they have more than likely spoken to ideal candidates who are immediately available, massively streamlining their recruitment process. For candidates, recruiters are free to use, specialise in your industry and often have exclusivity with some businesses in your sector.

What strategies do you use to source and attract top talent? 

I have been joining LinkedIn groups related to BAs and reaching out personally to them.

What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of work? 

I would consider myself a very amateur golfer.

Can you share with us a fun fact or unique skill that not many people know about you? 

I plan to retire to Italy when I’m older.
