Client:

Our client is a well-respected Property Services Contractor that have been operating for approximately 50 years. They specialise in property alterations and modifications, damage restoration and maintenance projects. They work with Social and Private Housing clients, Property Management Companies, Care Homes, Schools, Councils and Commercial Buildings.

Overview of Role:

Responsibility and accountability for coordinating operations, direct labour, contract compliance and ensuring excellent service delivery is achieved.

As the point of reference for workers and supervisors, this role is key in the organising of works, meeting client and internal targets, advocating safety standards, practices and protocols whilst ensuring work is completed, on time, to specification, and within cost budgets. Managing client relationships is pivotal to the role, ensuring transparency and good channels of communication exist and are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out normal trade related daily duties and completing appointments issued through PDA system
  • Assisting the area supervisor & planner with the organising of the jobs for the operations team and overall operational aspects of the contract
  • Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety standards and protocols are maintained with onsite teams, completing H&S audits, accident reporting and toolbox talk delivery
  • Central point of contact for Contract Supervisors and Operations Managers along with administration personnel for all work/queries relating to service delivery
  • Ensure flow of work instructions are allocated to appropriate sub-contractors or direct labour
  • Liaising with and managing sub-contractor relations, ensuring quality and performance standards are being met in line with service delivery
  • Surveying jobs and ordering required materials with the procurement department
  • Assisting with the collecting of materials for the operational team
  • Liaising with the project managers regarding works orders, agreed additions and omissions from the task orders
  • Carry out thorough Pre & Post Inspection Surveys ensuring information is adequate with an accurate list of details relating to materials & work requirements so that the job can be planned accordingly and carried out efficiently & profitably
  • Ensure works are completed and the system is accurately updated with all relevant information being readily available for admin and QS's
  • Carrying out daily site inspection with operatives, client staff, sub-contractor and agreeing measurement and application of SOR's prior to works commencing
  • Management and reviewing of Subcontract performance ensuring they are continually updated on contract developments
  • Providing support, guidance and training to direct labour & sub-contractor staff
  • Assist with the Training of new staff
  • To perform the job in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, especially the Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy

The Ideal Person:

  • Working Foreman Experience in the Construction Industry
  • Social Housing / Maintenance experience is beneficial
  • CSR Card
  • Competent in using PDA/Phones or Tablets
  • Previous experience working on NEC contracts
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Be able to foster a team ethic with colleagues
  • Ability to focus & remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to keep track of multiple tasks or projects & manage time effectively
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to problem solve and work on own initiative
  • A valid UK Driver's Licence
