Web Systems Support Technician

Job Description

Our client, a dynamic technology consultancy with a reputation for delivering digital solutions to clients across a range of industries, is seeking a technically capable and customer-oriented individual to support the operation and optimisation of their client-facing digital platforms.

Operating as part of the internal systems team, the successful applicant will provide day-to-day assistance in configuring, maintaining, and supporting hosted environments and web-based services. This is a highly collaborative role that bridges IT operations and client services, and would suit someone with a grounding in IT support who enjoys both the technical and interpersonal sides of problem-solving.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent performance and availability of live website environments and related services. This includes assisting with new project launches, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting clients with digital infrastructure concerns ranging from hosting to email access.

Key Duties

  • Coordinate the go-live process for client websites, liaising between internal developers, systems engineers, and clients to ensure a smooth handover.

  • Resolve end-user support requests relating to email delivery, browser configuration, hosting access, and domain setups.

  • Monitor the health and responsiveness of hosted platforms and escalate issues to internal infrastructure teams where required.

  • Support DNS and domain configurations, including record management and registrar transfers.

  • Configure and troubleshoot client-side email setups across common desktop and mobile environments.

  • Assist users through remote access platforms, phone, or email, ensuring a positive and solutions-driven experience.

  • Maintain and manage content and control systems, such as CMS platforms and web server dashboards.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 1+ year of experience in a technical support, helpdesk, or IT services role.

  • Competence in using web server interfaces or hosting management platforms

  • Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Proficiency in managing support tickets and prioritising tasks under time pressure.

  • Self-starter mindset with a desire to take ownership of technical challenges and resolve them efficiently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting WordPress sites or other open-source CMS frameworks.

  • Prior use of tools like TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or other remote support software.
