Contract: Long term temporary contract

Job Overview:
VANRATH is recruiting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Assembly for a Web Content Manager. This role involves overseeing and enhancing the content and architecture of the Assembly's main website and associated sites. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage content systems, and ensure compliance with accessibility regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Develop a user-centred Assembly website, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Management: Supervise two web publishers, ensuring effective planning, prioritisation, and evaluation of their work.
  • Content Systems: Administer the Assembly's content management systems, including templates, workflows, and user accounts.
  • Website Maintenance: Oversee micro-sites and intranet content, ensuring design, security, and functionality.
  • Content Audits: Regularly review and update website content to eliminate redundancy.
  • Analytics and SEO: Utilise analytics to improve user experience and develop SEO strategies.
  • Compliance and Training: Ensure adherence to accessibility regulations and provide web publishing training to colleagues.

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria by the application deadline:

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor's Degree with significant web design/digital media components or in Interactive Media, Computing, or IT.
    • Minimum2years' experience in:
      • Leading a web team.
      • Managing enterprise-level content management systems (e.g., Episerver, Umbraco).
      • Administering websites built with WordPress.
      • Using Accessibility Checker tools.
      • Troubleshooting website effectiveness.
      • HTML, Markdown, CSS, JavaScript for complex page layouts.
      • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
      • Adobe products (Dreamweaver, Photoshop).
      • Project management for website development.

  1. Experience:
    • Minimum 4 years' experience in the areas outlined above.
