About the Role

We are recruiting Waste Collection Operatives on behalf of a public sector client to support refuse and recycling services. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role working as part of a collection crew to ensure waste services are delivered efficiently and safely.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Remove wheeled bins from collection points, empty them, and return them safely
Operate mechanical lifting equipment at the rear of collection vehicles
Collect additional waste on designated collection days
Clear spillages and maintain cleanliness around collection areas
Assist drivers when reversing or manoeuvring vehicles
Identify and report contaminated or non-compliant waste
Engage with members of the public in a polite and professional manner
Support vehicle cleaning and basic maintenance tasks

Candidate Requirements

Ability to undertake manual handling and sustained physical work
Experience in waste collection, labouring, or outdoor work advantageous
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Awareness of health & safety requirements
Flexible approach to working hours and duties
