Overview
A busy public-facing organisation is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to support day-to-day stores and distribution functions. This role will involve order picking, goods handling and operating a counterbalance forklift in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Loading and unloading deliveries using a counterbalance forklift
Picking and packing orders accurately in line with pick sheets
Moving stock safely within the warehouse and yard
Carrying out goods-in checks and reporting discrepancies
Labelling, wrapping and preparing items for dispatch
Maintaining accurate stock records and updating internal systems
Assisting with stock counts and inventory control
Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, organised and safe at all times
Adhering to all health & safety procedures and manual handling practices
Supporting other warehouse and logistics tasks as required
Essential Criteria
Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (in date)
Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment
Experience with order picking and packing
Ability to work accurately in a fast-moving environment
Good understanding of health & safety within a warehouse setting
Strong team player with a flexible approach to duties
Willingness to undertake manual handling tasks
Desirable Criteria
Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems
Previous experience working in a public-sector or large organisation
Driving licence and access to transport
