Warehouse Manager - FMCG - 30-35k

Job Description

VANRATH has partnered with a leading Brand Builder that is extremely passionate about unleashing the potential of their customers, team and brands.

This role is based in the Belfast office and may involve occasional travel to GB and Ireland.

As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing excellent standards of operation through effective management of the warehousing liaison with the Buying team on logistics arrangements. These teams handle the needs of our customers throughout the UK and Ireland from our established network of distribution depots.

You will proactively manage tactical excellence in receiving, sales order picking, packing, shipping, manpower planning, value added services and quality assurance. You will actively develop relationships with our transport supplier and ensure continuous review and improvement is maintained in the warehouse and logistics.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 7am-3pm or 10am-7pm (occasional Saturday 7am-3pm)

Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

Responsibilities:

Systems & Finance:

§ Efficient management of order processing and stock management systems and processes to improve performance, profitability, and service levels.

Warehousing / Logistics:

§ Manage strategic stock management in liaison with the Buying team.

§ Monitor, and improve KPIs including:

o Distribution costs

o Pick rates

o Inventory accuracy

o Warehouse efficiency levels and attendance

o Inbound and outbound service levels

§ Accurate record keeping and Warehouse administration duties.

§ Ensure product specific transport / storage requirements are adhered to.

§ Optimize physical material flow by identifying and eliminating safety hazards and waste.

§ Adhere to and improve SOP's to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to operations (quantity, labelling, correct products)

§ Identify any problems relating to the product, process, and quality and implement effective cost-conscious solutions.

Suppliers:

§ Record and report Day-to-day issues with suppliers to focus on:

o Performance

o Service levels

o Quality Incidents

o Date issues

People Management:

§ Delivery of a high-performance service culture through the coaching and development of the distribution and picking teams.

§ Ensure the implementation of adequate resourcing, performance management, communication, and development of staff.

§ Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues, and procedures of your direct reports.

§ Ensure strong communication between teams under your leadership and facilitate up to date exchange of information in support of the implementation of change and improvements.

Health, Safety, Environmental & Facilities:

§ Assume full responsibility for full Warehouse environment.

§ Ensure that facilities are maintained in a clean and safe manner and emphasise good safety practices through safety awareness training programs, and policies.

§ Ensure all employees are trained in the safe operation of equipment.

§ Review and introduce opportunities to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

General:

§ Ensure that the site operates within cost targets, company policy and legal requirements.

§ Completes all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.

§ Maintain high levels of communication across all departments.

The Ideal Candidate:

§ Warehouse Manager with 3-5+ years' experience in logistics, supply chain and warehousing Operations

§ Warehouse Stock Management systems and processes.

§ Experience of working in a high-volume fast-moving environment

§ Experience of warehouse automation

§ Relevant A-levels or HND

Desirable

§HND/Degree level qualification in Transport/Logistics/Business Management

§ Record of implementing lean processes

§ Bonded warehouse experience/knowledge
