Tyre-Fitter (Public Sector)

Are you looking for a Tyre-Fitter role? Interested in working for a Public Sector organisation?

VANRATH are assisting a major Public Sector organisation with the recruitment of a Tyre-Fitter in Belfast. The role will initially run for around 3 months, with this highly likely to be extended, this proves to be a great opportunity.

Salary
c£22,000 per annum + Fantastic Public Sector Benefits

Responsibilities

  • To repair punctures on all types of wheels and tyres, to change wheels and use air operated equipment for removal and repair on all vehicles and items of mobile plant as directed.
  • To observe, recognise and report promptly on any vehicle and component defects and symptoms of impending failure disclosed during tyre-fitting activities.
  • To provide as required all job-costing and time-recording information using the documentation provided.
  • To operate an emergency response puncture service including travelling to and from location of puncture to repair and jacking up/changing wheels on site for all vehicles and items of mobile plant as directed, and to ensure that the specialist tyre van is serviceable and is fully equipped for such emergencies.
  • To carry out periodic inspections of vehicles and mobile plant after completion of daily operations to ensure that wheels and tyres are serviceable and that tyres comply with current MOT requirements.
  • To wash and clean vehicles in preparation for Goods Vehicle Certification, and to drive prepared vehicles to and from the Vehicle Inspection Agency for testing.



The Ideal Person

  • Be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have at least one year's experience of undertaking HGV/LGV tyre repairs,
  • Possess a full, current driving licence which enables them to drive in Northern Ireland.
