Trainee Accountant
VANRATH is delighted to be recruiting for a Trainee Accountant for a well-known organisation which is at the forefront of its industry. Due to organic growth and recent acquisitions, our client has grown rapidly and is now keen to appoint a Trainee Accountant. Our client will support your professional ACCA qualification, and with hands on training from an incredibly experienced FD, the successful candidate is guaranteed a supportive learning environment. The Role
The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director and receive comprehensive training from the FD also. The role will offer a varied day to day working environment, helping the Trainee Accountant build a solid foundation in accounting principles. The successful Trainee, will be responsible for the following:

  • Sales ledger maintenance, to include raising and posting sales invoices
  • Purchase ledger administration, to include supplier payment runs and dealing with queries
  • Cash and bank management dealing with; lodgements, reconciliations and expenses
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolution of associated queries
  • Support in the preparation of; vat returns, management accounts and statutory audit
  • Ad hoc accounting and clerical duties as required



The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be driven and determined to learn and show enthusiasm toward ascertaining their professional qualifications. The ideal candidate will be able to show longevity through previous roles, whether that be from part-time roles during their studies or previous employment. The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience of working in the Hospitality and / or Care Sectors
  • Accounts related experience or experience working within a finance department
  • Ideally ,1 years' experience with Sage 50
  • Degree or Part Qualified through a recognised accountancy body
