Job description
The Role
Reporting into a specialist development team, the successful candidate will support the coordination and completion of a programme of technical assessments to ensure housing schemes meet agreed design, compliance, cost and value-for-money standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertaking technical assessments of housing development proposals, including design compliance, cost appraisal and value for money
Producing clear, evidence-based reports with recommendations to support project approval decisions
Engaging with external delivery partners through pre-assessment discussions to support timely scheme approvals
Providing technical advice to internal stakeholders and external partners
Supporting audits of completed schemes to ensure compliance with approved proposals, including site visits and drawing reviews
Maintaining accurate project records in line with internal procedures
Contributing to the ongoing development of design standards and best practice
Essential Criteria
Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the following areas:
Housing scheme design process compliance, including adherence to relevant standards and/or funding criteria
The housing scheme development process and associated delivery challenges
Partnership working with key stakeholders involved in housing development
Technical assessment of project proposals and the preparation of reports with clear recommendations
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Registered Architect or Architecture graduate with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience, or
BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) in an architecture or construction-related discipline with 3 years' relevant experience, or
Exceptionally, candidates with 5 years' relevant experience may be considered without the above qualifications
Additional Requirements
Strong IT skills
Access to a driving licence or suitable transport to meet the requirements of the role
Willingness to complete a Basic Access NI check
Working Arrangements
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Flexible working hours with core hours in place
Hybrid working model available (office-based in Belfast with some home working)
