Responsibilities:
The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that each of the manufacturing sites produce safe, legal, authentic and high-quality foods to specification whilst maintaining standards in budget control and customer satisfaction.
· Putting Staff Welfare and Food Safety first in all decisions.
· Retailer and BRCGS Audit Management
· Participate / lead customer and third-party audits, completion of root cause and corrective actions.
· Stay up to date on evolving food safety laws and industry best practices, updating internal protocols as needed.
· Completion of gap analysis work for industry, customer, and legislation requirements ensuring the business remains in a compliant state ongoing.
· Keeping up to date and Horizon scanning for food safety and legality concerns.
· Lead and manage the Quality functions on site.
· Chair monthly technical meetings.
· Develop and maintain a positive proactive relationship with key retail and export customers.
· Leading implementation and improvement projects around quality, food safety and compliance. Risk assessment generation, review, and implementation as required.
· Provide technical guidance, training, and support to other departments, developing awareness and understanding of technical issues.
· Participate with the internal audit program through completion of audits and updates required.
· Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies and procedures.
· Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
· Co Ordinate and Manage HACCP Team and Activities.
