The firm are seeking a Tax Reserves Manager, they will collaborate with the Head of International Tax to oversee the global tax affairs of the Global focusing on managing partners' tax reserves.


What you will do:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of tax systems across the firms territories, particularly regarding partner tax reserves.
  • Establish and reconcile tax reserves in GBP and other currencies for equity and employee/consultant partners, including review of tax equalisation arrangements.
  • Coordinate with UK and international tax teams to consolidate partners' tax reserves positions for ongoing reconciliation and releases.
  • Review existing processes, adapt them to reflect business changes and legislative developments, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead in establishing processes for reconciling partner tax reserves for new offices and ensure ongoing maintenance.
  • Support year-end tasks including tax reserves calculations, tax equalisation calculations, and relevant tax disclosures.
  • Ensure accurate reflection of partner tax reserve positions in relevant accounting systems.
  • Reconcile and maintain deferred tax control accounts.
  • Identify and propose technology solutions to streamline the tax reserving process.
  • Communicate tax reserving matters with partners, CFOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external advisors as necessary.
  • Coordinate and support junior team members in London and Belfast.


What you will have:

  • Collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills across global teams.
  • Effective communication of complex tax and accounting issues to non-specialists.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Broad knowledge of tax issues affecting partners in professional partnerships preferred but not required.
  • Strong General Ledger accounting skills.
  • Demonstrated numeric proficiency.
  • ACA or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Tax qualification (e.g., ADIT or CTA) desirable.
  • Experience in Personal or Corporate Tax to Manager level.
