About you
- Qualified accountant with membership from ICAI, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar tax-focused role, ideally within Food, FMCG, or Agriculture sectors
- Expert knowledge of taxation and statutory reporting requirements (corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, customs)
- Proven experience with cross-border trading and related tax implications
- Skilled in compliance reporting to HMRC, ONS, auditors, and financial institutions
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus
- Excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex information clearly and concisely
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach and ability to work under pressure
What you'll do
- Lead all aspects of group tax activities, including corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, and customs compliance
- Support intergroup accounting, M&A activity, cross-border transactions, and transfer pricing documentation
- Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts and internal financial reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and controls as part of the Digital Transformation initiative
- Provide operational business partnering, supporting key projects and decision-making processes
- Ensure strong control environments and compliance across all tax-related functions
