Job Description

VANRATH are thrilled to be assisting an award winning Main Contractor based in Armagh. They have recently won multiple new large projects and the business is growing which has created some excellent new opportunities including an opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to work within their construction team, and also advise and lead sustainability related initiatives company wide.

This is a Monday - Friday position - 42.5 hours per week position.

Salary

£36,000 per year + fantastic benefits in a modern workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake BREEAM or alternative sustainability assessments as required.

  • Liaise with project teams to achieve BREEAM requirements and provide ongoing guidance and support.
  • Liaise with the BREEAM AP and take steps to action recommendations/requirements accordingly.
  • Review trackers, report and checklists relating to BREEAM.
  • Assist in the compilation and presentation of BREEAM evidence.
  • Provide support, management and monitoring of progress of net zero carbon projects and initiatives.
  • Provide support, management and monitoring of waste management initiatives.
  • Regular liaison with the SHEQ Manager to provide guidance and support on current, and future environmental plans and initiatives.
  • Attend project meeting to identify opportunities to improve sustainability.

  • Provide guidance and support on regulation and legislation changes that impact projects and/or service delivery in the wider company.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure a good working relationship is built and maintained.
  • Hold meetings and workshops, as required.
  • Administrative duties associated with the role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Graduate level qualification.
  • Minimum of two years experience in the construction industry.
  • Highly organised, efficient and self-driven.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge and experience of all Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of:

- Sustainability Assessments

- Planning Strategy

- Energy and sustainability statements

- Circular economy principles, life cycle assessment, net zero standards and other environmental methodologies

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working on BREEAM certified projects.
  • Experience in circular economy principles, life cycle assessment, net zero standards and/or other environmental methodologies.
  • Experience of ISO 14001.
