Staff Officer (Greater Belfast)

VANRATH are currently recruiting for a Part Qualified or fully Qualified Accountant to join a well known public sector body in Greater Belfast as a Staff Officer on a temporary basis. This role is due to run for 6 months with a possibility of extension and the successful candidate should ideally have some experience in the public sector. The successful candidate will be reporting into the Claims Manager.


The Role:

  • Production of claims and invoices
  • Provide support for the development of budgets in line with company policies
  • Contribute to the development of internal policy and procedures to enhance the delivery of support services
  • Ensure that invoices claims made to funding bodies are timely and accurate
  • Maintain and manage debtors ledger for grants claims
  • Ensure that research finance is fully integrated into wider processes such as year end procedures, accruals, approval of payments etc.


The Ideal Candidate:

- Part Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant (desirable) with proven experience of working at a relevant level within the Public Sector
- Exposure to preparing management and statutory accounts, with knowledge of budgets, forecasts and variances
- Highly computer literate with a good level of familiarity with MS Excel (Pivots Tables, V Look Ups experience preferable)
- Immediate availability


Remuneration:

£30,000-£33,000
