Job Description

VANRATH are thrilled to be assisting our client, a Public Sector Support Services organisation, with the recruitment of a Social Worker to join their growing team in Belfast.

The purpose of this role is to assist in the management of Support Packages to service users with complex needs and to ensure a high-quality, safe and effective service is delivered to service users.

This is a position that requires an ability to work flexibily.

Salary

£33,700 per year

Responsibilities:

  • To establish supportive relationships with service users and deal with challenging situations in an appropriate and sensitive manner, keeping within the boundaries of policies and procedures and recording incidents.
  • To assess the needs and risks of the service users and develop support and risk management plans and review accordingly.
  • To establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures and RQIA standards.
  • Assist Quality & Compliance Manager in the preparation for external inspections and audits.
  • To provide support and supervision to designated Support Workers, Identifying training and development needs.
  • To work in conjunction with the Support Services Manager to prepare reports when required.
  • To ensure that any complaints are recorded and dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Any other administrative tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the project.

The Ideal Person:

  • Social Worker Qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection and safeguarding children & vulnerable adults.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults/children with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Experience in Multi-Agency work.
  • Experience managing case loads.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with service users, colleagues, and other disciplines.
  • Ability to adapt/respond to changing circumstances, and be committed to quality and excellence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Project Management / Leadership qualification.
  • Experience with staff / student supervision.
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies and legislation applicable to NI.
