Client
Our client is a leading specialist construction contractor working on projects throughout Ireland.
They have a great opportunity for a Site Manager to join them on a permanent basis, working on office fit-out solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all site activities
- Monitor progress against the programme taking remedial action and advising the senior management team where appropriate of risk and/or potential risk to the project.
- Ensure the effective close out of projects and project reach practical completion with zero defects and no snags.
- Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure high standards of quality are achieved throughout and address any issues with the relevant trades.
- Keep up to date and complete site records in line with Company, Health, Safety and Legislative requirements.
- Safeguard the Company's contractual position, ensuring contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Work closely with the Commercial team to monitor the financial status of the project, identify solutions to problems and improvements and organise activity to deliver these.
- Report any variations to the commercial team.
- Manage prelim, plant and labour costs within budget.
- Manage the performance of direct and sub-contract labour, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
- To manage the communication of all necessary information.
- Fulfil responsibilities as required by the Project Manager and Senior Management Team.
- Ensure our HSE standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
- Take corrective action on any breach of policy to ensure a safe site, free of accidents and incidents, at all times.
- Responsible for the safety of the public, when working in a live environment.
- Co-ordinate the activities of different sub-contractors to ensure work is carried out efficiently and oversee performance to ensure work is completed on schedule and to the right standard.
- Understand the information flow from supporting project team to ensure absolute adherence to approved details, drawings and specification on the Site.
The Ideal Person:
- SMSTS training card or equivalent required.
- HND/HNC in building studies preferred.
- CSCS card required.
- Experience in the retail or redevelopment sectors will be beneficial.
- Experience in a fit-out role
- Strong joinery background
- MS Office competence required.
