Are you looking for a Site Engineer role? Interested in working for a leading Main Contractor that work on a wide range of projects across multiple sectors?
VANRATH are recruiting a Site Engineer to work on various Construction projects for a leading Main Contractor based in Belfast. Projects are located across the UK.
Remuneration:
£35,000 - £40,000 DOE + travel / accommodation / package
Client
Our client is an award-winning Main Contractor that operate across various sectors such hospitality, leisure, education, residential and high residential. Projects vary from new build, refurbishment and fitout, up to circa £70m in value.
Summary of the Role:
Reporting to the Contracts Manager and Site Manager, the Site Engineer will be responsible for the effective implementation of the planned design, providing all setting out on site to ensure that work progresses on time and that all checks are carried out on a regular basis.
Duties:
- Ensure accurate setting out and levelling of the works in accordance with drawings/ specifications
- Ensure all drawings and information relating to your area of work are accurate and up-to-date
- Review Architect/Engineer/Services/Sub-Contractor drawings to ensure co-ordination and integration
- Ensure quality control and testing of work and materials is carried out in accordance with the specification requirements
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with the Construction Programme
- Carry out check on works prior to and following any concrete pours
- Fulfil the role of Temporary Works Co-Ordinator when required
- Acting as the main technical advisor, direct and supervise day to day operations of sub-contractors when required, resolving any technical issues that may arise
- Liaising with local authorities as appropriate to ensure compliance with local construction regulations
- Delivering Induction and Toolbox talks on site
- Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company's Site Waste
- Minimisation and Management policy
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to projects on Gateway to enable traceability
- Establish, maintain and build good relations with clients as well as their representatives and liaise with GA project team and sub- contractors to ensure they do likewise
- Fulfil health, safety and welfare responsibilities as detailed in the Company's
- Policy and in compliance with ISO 45001
- Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001and ISO 14001
- Undertake all relevant training and development activities as required
- Fulfil the role of mentor as and when required
- Supervision on site as and when required and where appropriate training for site supervision has been achieved
- Continually develop knowledge of innovative construction techniques and products to enhance the business and fulfil company CPD requirements
- Contribute to the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
The Ideal Person:
- Ideally Degree or HND Qualified
- Main Contractor background
- Track record as a Site Engineer
- Minimum of 2 years' experience successfully managing and co-ordinating sub-contractors on a large scale
- Understanding of the construction process
- Proven track record of monitoring subcontractors
- Experience in AutoCAD
- Experience in carrying out Health and Safety Assessments / Inspections
- CSCS or CSR Card
- Happy to travel and stay away during weekdays and every other Saturday
