What you'll do:
- Continuously update and implement health and safety policies to promote a strong safety culture within the company.
- Serve as the primary health and safety contact for clients.
- Lead the adoption of best-in-class health and safety standards.
- Act as the main point of contact for line managers and site supervisors regarding health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation, especially concerning lone working.
- Create and distribute risk assessments and method statements to ensure workplace safety.
- Investigate accidents and incidents promptly and professionally, adhering to specific contractual deadlines.
- Implement appropriate preventative actions based on risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Organise and lead health and safety training for employees.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and organise emergency evacuation training.
- Conduct and oversee safety audits across the organisation and address audit findings.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure vehicle and road safety.
- Ensure full compliance with tools and PPE regulations.
- Prepare and deliver toolbox talks.
- Complete internal and client SHEQ reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Participate in or lead health and safety-related disciplinary actions.
- Conduct return-to-work interviews as needed.
- Design and deliver comprehensive health and safety induction programs.
- Monitor, manage, and ensure compliance with employee training.
- Maintain high standards of quality control.
- Advise senior management on health and safety legislation.
- Handle HSENI and HSA accident reporting and investigation.
- Drive continuous improvement and acquire health and safety accreditation's.
- Collaborate with the HR department to promote employee wellbeing.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior SHEQ role.
- Preferred experience in the electrical industry or with health and safety within the electrical sector.
- Essential experience in the Utilities, Infrastructure, or Building Services industries.
- A degree in a health and safety-related discipline is essential.
- NEBOSH/IOSH qualification is required.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Train the Trainer certification is desirable.
- Valid First Aid training is desirable.
