VANRATH are recruiting a SHEQ Coordinator to work within the Building Maintenance department for a large, leading Construction Company in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Remuneration:
£25,000 - £30,000 + package

The Role:

The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the SHEQ team and will include an active role in the implementation and maintenance of the ISO management system.

You will play a key role in delivering and maintaining a positive Health and Safety culture within the business. You will assist with the implementation of the Company's Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

You will be tasked with assisting in ensuring that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated alongside the effective maintenance and operation of the health, safety & environmental ISO accreditations.

You will regularly assist in carrying out regular site audits, inspections and GO visits on site in line with the company requirements.

Overview of Duties:

  • Assisting the Subcontractor Approved List Coordinator with the approval process for subcontractors. Including data processing
  • Providing support to the SHEQ team with administrative, corrective action and site tasks including preparation and reviewing of RAMS, TBT's and COSHH assessments
  • Ensuring that incoming and outgoing correspondence is effectively managed
  • Attending meetings to take record and produce minutes
  • Operation of systems to ensure paper based information is correctly filed
  • Management of SHEQ Materials and consumables e.g. posters, books etc. ensuring effective controls on issue and management of stock levels
  • Assisting with the maintenance of key certifications e.g. GasSafe and maintaining the registration of key personnel e.g. duty holders, qualifying supervisors etc.
  • Acting as a focal point for all matters SHEQ in the business e.g. non IT driven incident reporting, requests for literature, queries on contractor competence, company certifications etc.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of ISO 45001 and other management standard (ISO 9001 and 14001)
  • Delivering Health and Safety / Covid-19 induction programs for new employees
  • Support SHEQ team and departments in the investigation and reporting of accidents and incidents as required ensuring any learning points are communicated
  • Delivering and completing statutory notifications for incidents / accident reporting
  • Conduct HSE inspections, safety GO visits and audits in order to identify gaps in procedures and to ensure that the company is meeting all legislative and system requirements
  • Updating and reviewing method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Improve H&S awareness of all staff and employees through communication, training and engagement
  • Responsible for monitoring and enforcing the use of safe systems of work including Personal Protective Equipment as is necessary
  • Work as a member of a team in helping to implement and carry out all company working practices as well as Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
  • Monitor and track all other H&S management process and data, as necessary
