Senior Transport Planner - 38k - Coleraine

VANRATH are thrilled to be assisting one of our major clients in Coleraine with the recruitment of a Senior Transport Planner to join their expanding team.

This is a position that requires combining excellent organisational skills, people skills and multitasking skills.

This is a Monday - Friday position. Early finish on a Friday - Permanent

Salary

£35,000 - £38,000 per year + fantastic benefits in a modern workplace

Responsibilities:

• To plan and manage drivers and vehicles to allocated routes and loads.
• Programme and schedule orders for delivery throughout designated areas and generate relevant documentation.
• Ensure maximum use of resources in a cost-effective manner.
• Issue daily instructions to drivers and communicate nature of work.
• Minimise fuel costs and maximise driver hours.
• Focus on efficiency to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Keep up to date with current legislation regarding Road Haulage regulations.

Essential Criteria:

• Supervisory experience within a Transport department, in a high volume/turnover business.
• Significant demonstrable experience with route planning software for example: Roadnet, Paragon, or Max Optra.
• Considerable demonstrable experience with telematics software such as Teletrac, Quartix or Orbcom.
• The ability to communicate well at all levels within the business.
• Have excellent problem solving, analytic and organisational skills.
• First-rate knowledge of Microsoft Office packages with a focus on Excel.

Desirable Criteria:

• 3rd level qualification in Business or a relevant discipline.
• Transport manager CPC Road Haulage
• Proven experience using Power BI and an ability to build reports.
• Category B Licence
