Senior Lead Technician
Location: Cookstown
Salary: £45,000+ (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
A leading environmental engineering organisation is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Lead Technician to take ownership of its Testing & Inspection operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company at the forefront of Water Treatment and Power Distribution solutions, where innovation, quality, and safety are at the core of everything they do.
This hands-on leadership role will see you managing a skilled team of technicians, overseeing the testing, commissioning, and inspection of control panels both in-house and on-site. You'll act as the technical authority, ensuring quality standards, compliance, and project delivery excellence are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Testing & Inspection Technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to best practice.
- Oversee and perform testing, commissioning, and verification of electrical control panels across multiple projects.
- Plan and conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) in line with client and project specifications.
- Liaise with clients to address technical queries and ensure full satisfaction.
- Work closely with Contracts and Project Managers to coordinate testing schedules and delivery timelines.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding and diagnostic work, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Manage and oversee NIC/EIC testing procedures.
- Ensure all activities comply with ISO Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards.
- Mentor and support junior technicians, encouraging a culture of teamwork and professional growth.
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of all testing activities.
Essential Criteria
- 2395 or equivalent Testing & Inspection Certification (essential).
- Significant hands-on experience in Testing & Inspection within engineering sectors.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and mentor a technical team.
- Strong electrical fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other database systems.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Familiarity with ACC docs, BIM360, or similar software would be advantageous.
